Tier1 earnings criteria should also consider the UK economy in to account.

If economy is not doing good, one's earnings may drop (say due to salary cuts ) even if the person is talented.

Well in my opinion... let's drop this talk .. UKBA will take it as an inspiration to say -- Hey economy is not doing well.. here is a 10% increase in visa application fee... and by the way .. we are expecting you to make a lot of money here .. so .. band range will also go a few thousand bucks while you are applying :)
