Name is too long

Post by kasturi75 » Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:56 pm

Hello,
I am filling my son's Passport application now... I found an issue that parent name field is not enough to fit my full name with given boxes. Can I attach an extra document with my full name by keeping parent name field blank on original application?

thanks

Shorten your name so that it fits the box. Use section 8 to write your full name.

Thanks ban.s, Issue is we have all our names are too long so section 8 is even not enough to fill in. If we do full names in a separate sheet, would that be accepted by Post office/Passport office?

Thanks

Why don't you just phone the passport office and ask them what you can do. The number is 0300 222 0000. They're not like UKBA. They actually answer questions and help you out.

Thanks Astrid24, I just have contacted them during my lunch time. They are ok with a separate sheet of full names with section numbers. Also asked to fill original boxes with part of the names as they appropriate. We are not allowed to write anything outside the boxes.

Thanks again.
