P60 and employment history

P60 and employment history

Hi,
For FY 2012-13 I have got my P60(permanent employment) but when I called up HMRC for employment history ,they have no record for 2012-13.So would it be advisable for me to do self-assessments (I used to do self assessment as I was a contractor) or shall I wait for so that my employer feed them the info?
