Is a New British Citizen Acceptable to Act as Referee.....??

Post by ak36 » Sun Jul 28, 2013 2:56 am

I am applying for my BC in the next few weeks. I am planning to ask my friend to be countersignatory for me however, he himself has got British Passport only about a week ago. Is it ok to ask him to be my referee when he has been a British Citizen only for this long?

Thanks,
ak36

Yes providing he meets the other referee requirements (click).

My referee only got his passport a month prior to my application. I got my BC rather recently without any problems. So you should be fine.
