Tier 2 - Change of Employment with the same sponsor

I got recently promoted in my company. The new job role falls under a different SOC code now. Tier 2 General Policy guidance tells that I have to make a fresh application under this circumstances.

The job is already in the shortage occupation list (but in a different category) Do my company has to do Resident Market Labour Test before they offer me this new job?
