Got EC from Bombay

Hi friends, I got EC from bombay. I applied on 22 feb and got my passport back on 24 feb. I applied through VFS ahmedabad. I was on student visa in UK. At the time of EC application I didn't put any IT return, form 16 docs with it. I just put work exp letter, salary certificate and payslips & my educational documents. Hope this information is useful for some people.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!did u complete ur studies here or u have applied before completion. I am also in same situation and am applying soon. Please let me know the documents u have provided.

I did finish my studies here but my degree was from a non-Uk university so I had to go back to india to change my visa status. I didn't claim any points of the degree I finished in UK but I did include degree certificate and transcript in my application.

Hi jigs1982,

congrats on ur EC. you mentioned u were on a uk student visa. so that means u were still on ur student visa before u got ur EC and have u finished ur course before u went to apply for EC?

I did finish one degree course and I was doing the second degree when I received my approval. I did show that I am a full time student at the time of applying for EC. Now I got two stamps on my passport, one is hsmp and the other is student visa which is still not expired.

FYI the HSMP visa has superceeded the student visa and the student visa is not valid anymore....

olisun, u are right. the student visa will have been cancelled. u can have u visa stamps in ur passport.

i'm about to apply for EC as well and not sure if i shud mention anything about me being a student at the moment simply cos it has no relevance to hsmp as each visa caregory has got its own criteria.

If you don't show that you are a student than you have to fill out Section 6 of VAF1 form which ask for current employment details. As you are currently studying, you don't have to fill that section. You just need to write down 'Student' in that section. I did it like that and even VFS people told me that it's ok.

I didn't put any job offer letter with application.
