Sponsor with dependent child

Post by KenAlgar » Mon Sep 09, 2013 5:57 pm

Hi, I am sponsoring my wife (to be) coming from Ghana.
She has no children but i have a son aged 5.
Do have to meet the higher income threshold for having a dependent child myself who is British.
The way i read the form it is certainly a requirement if the applicant has dependent child(ren). Is it also the case for the sponsor?
Thanks

No, there is no increase in the threshold for British children.

My council tax bill shows single person discount.
I have tenancy agreement.
Since i am living alone and clearly another occupant would not result in overcrowding do i still need to prove the number of bedrooms through an independent property inspection report?

Yes, that is what happens at the appeal around 6 months after the visa is refused.

I meant if further evidence is required in order to grant a visa, not necessarily following a refusal,
thanks

Should be ok, though ideally you would use non laminated/official copy.

Yes that should suffice for both spouse (A1) and also settlement (B1) as 4.0 equates to the lowest IELTS equivalent grade of B1.

Change? Spouse leave is an A1 requirement if that's met then should be fine.

Its mostly ok but on the page requiring sponsor details there is a question asking what is your relationship to your sponsor.
There is a drop-down list of options, Mother, son ect ect but husband or wife are not included.
I am her husband but also her sponsor so i thought.
So should i check "other relative" and add a note to say im her husband.
This seems odd,
Am i missing something here?
Thanks for your help

It shows this at the start when logging in
Thanks
KenAlgar wrote:Also the site is flawed
there are questions on the sponsor page with question meanings given to the wrong question for example
Question is Family name? and corresponding guidance note reads "where is your sponsor now"
They say its a Beta site and still testing it.
Though i think this has nothing to do with my question, sorry
