Hi.
I've just changed my address and am therefore required to re-register with the police. However, I also need to extend my leave to remain as I'm enrolling in a university near my new address.
The question here is whether I need to re-register with the police prior to applying or whether I should submit my application and re-register after receiving my visa (which I'd have to do anyway).
The problem is that UKBA wants to know my current address (on the application form), which, I presume has to be stated on the police registration certificate. If I write this address on the application and submit it without registering with police, I'm worried that the application will be rejected due to failing to (re)register with the police.
What should I do in this case? I have several options:
1). Update my address (re-register) with the police (on my current LTR) first. Submit an application for my new LTR after that. Then re-register with the police again. This leads to me missing the uni registration date (not a big deal, but still annoying).
2). Do not re-register with the police. Write my new address as current address. Submit an LTR application now. Re-register after receiving the LTR.
3). Same as above except mentioning my old address as "current" and writing my new address as the "correspondence address".
I would appreciate any help with this. Thank you.
