Submit Naturalization Certificate for First passport

I was going through the requirements of getting new Irish passport and one of the requirements for Naturalized citizens is to Submit your Naturalization Certificate with the application.

Are we supposed to submit the original certificate or just a certified copy?

If submitting the original certificate, do we get back with issued passport?
