about business bank account for T1 entrep visa

I am about to lodge my application of T1 Entrep and I have only 3 months visa remained. Banks are refusing to open business bank account saying they need at least 6 months' residence permit to open the account.

So I am really stuck here. Can anyone of you who have been through this situation give me some advice? Is bank account of business mandatory???

i had opened my business account when my visa was remained for one month. In which bank u have current account.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have my current accounts on barclays, lloyd and hsbc. Already Metro rejected and still similar vibe I am getting from others too. I am really dead worried about it, mate. Please, give me some hints, how and where did you handle it??? So I will move accordingly.

My business account is in Lloyds. Can you please tell me..have u register ur company and do u have UK driving licence. If u hold a personal account with Lloyds Bank, then u will not need to provide proof of identity and evidence of address. Call Lloyds on this number 0800 022 4389. I had opened my business account on Phone.

opening any account is individual bank discretion even different branches of same bank exercise tells u different story or requirement for opening a bank account.

anyway business bank account is not a requirement either. u can apply for T1E without having a business bank account.

u r right but business account will make ur case strong. i got my visa without interview ...so it is better to open a business account.

Thank you rahil and dharmesh for all your very helpful suggestions. Im agreeing with both of u. Metro declined but as u guys said, barclays n santander opened that for me happily. Phew!!!!!! At last one bit is done, yet, long way to go.
