Hi, We are planning to apply visa for my mother-in-law to visit us in UK. Is it true that she will only get 6 months visitors visa?

I am on Tier-1 and my spouse is on Tier-2.

Is there any way we can get more than 6 months visa for her?

Yes it's true, no she can't. Frankly, if six month is not sufficient to pay her visit, she may struggle to get the visa if she has no ties and effectively all she wants to do is live in the UK with you guys, as that is how it appears.

Thanks for your reply. We want her visa to be valid for only 1 year. is it possible to do so. also we will show property on her name in India to make sure she will not settle here.

It is not permitted to spend more than six months per year as a visitor.

I have few queries regrading my mothers visitor visa.

1. As I am tier 1 visa, should i apply for General visitor or family visitors visa for my mother?

2. Is it required to show property on my mothers name in India?

3. Is it recommended to apply for 6 months visa for first time Visitor to UK?
