PIO processing time 4 weeks ?

Post by tusharagrawal » Mon Oct 14, 2013 2:12 pm

Hi,
Earliest I can apply for PIO is 17th October 2013.
From other threads, I gather that I could get a collection date of 15th November 2013.
I've already booked tickets for 17th November.
So my question - is the collection date provided by HCI reliable ?
On the collection date, do they stamp something on British passport of issue a card ?
Does it all happen on the collection day ?
Thanks,
Tushar.

Yes, collection date is reliable and they don't endorse on passport. It is a card.

Thanks!
Now it appears that I would be able to apply only on 18th Oct 2013.
I know no one can tell for sure, but anyone who's applied, think that I could get a collection date of 15Nov 2013.

If that's not possible, I wont waste half a day to HCI, rather apply for visitor visa.

Hi Tushar,

I was in the same boat as you are in now, but I had to travel to india exactly at four weeks point after getting my son's british PP, so I applied for a tourist visa and got it within 3 days, did not rely on the HCI. If you have ur visa in hand, then u will spend about £100-£200 more on flight tickets, but if you don't get it on time, you will lose ample money for re-scheduling your flight.
Anyhow, the choice is yours to decide!

The above posts are really helpful!

I have a small question, I have two children and I want to apply POI cards for both of them.

Now how should I do it? Should I send both the applications in one post along with our passports?

Or should I send it as two separate applications but if I send it as two applications then how can I send the supporting documents?

Its quite confusing really!!!

Please advise urgently.

So many things to achieve and so little time....
