Pension Deposit to Irish Bank

Pension Deposit to Irish Bank

Does anyone have any experience with direct deposit of an American pension (NOT Social Security) to an Irish Bank. I was told by the county retirement pension person that they could only send direct deposit to a foreign bank that uses only numbers in the routing number. This seems to rule out banks in Europe.
