Urgent! Interview after receiving RC

Post by walai134 » Wed Nov 06, 2013 7:56 pm

Hello,
My husband and I received a letter this morning concerning our application fro confirmation of my husband's right to reside in the UK on the basis of his marriage to me (I am an EEA National).
Even though my husband received permission to work in United Kingdom, they want to meet us next Monday 11 November and the reply to the form attached to the letter, had to be sent via email no later than 25 October 2013!
And we received the letter this morning, 6 November!
I entered the tracking code on Royal Mail's form and I saved my signature.
I've sent an email to Migrationinterviewteam@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk with signature attached.

I've asked them, via email (because their telephone number is quite useless, nobody answers to our calls), if it was possible to have the interview in London since it will take us time and money, to book a flight and a hotel in Liverpool (they require at least 4 hours for the interview).

I even have to print all our latest bills, council taxes, and printing copies of our wedding pictures.

My husband is Iranian and we both have a permanent job. We met last year and we decided to get marry this year on May.
I have been living in London for almost 2 years, he's been living in London for 4 years and he also finished his studies in London.

Did you have a similar experience? Do you know how to help us?

Thank you

It is indeed very weird but do not ignore/delay in inquiring/answering further about this incident. Try to call them early morning office hours.

We called them several times this morning and none answers. I will try tomorrow morning again but we both work and it's so difficult to call them before 10. And they made a mistake, I will call UKBA as well.
You never heard about a similar situation before? I read the post you shared with me but he didn't talk about his experience after.
Thank you so much for your reply

This is COA not RC.

Interviews after applications and before RC are normal thing now a days.

You can request HO to change your interview date and place.

Try to contact/call them after 9 Am.

I do not think you have a choice. In terms of UKBA it is very hard to refuse invitations lol. This will be marriage interview and they will be checking how genuine your relationship is.The outcome will be crucial for your husband's RC.

Well this is very important : You and your family member need to sit down and talk. They would like to know more about guys. They are thinking it's not genuine marriage

I believe someone living with a partner for 15 years will even find some question hard to guess. It's a new thing. Before they used to home visit
