HSMP Approval letter - Spelling Mistake- Help needed plz

Hi All,
I got HSMP approval letter last week. But my name is mispelled in it.

My surname is Ragaram and firstname is shivakumar

In the approval letter it is printed as Ragaram shivkumar ( alphabet "a" is missing).

Will this be a problem when i go for EC ?

please help me what should i do for this.

hi Congrats,

well call HO or send them an email regarding this, and tell them to correct it and send you a updated letter with the correction. You might have to send the one with the missin alphabet back to them.

Its best u get the letter with ur correct name and nothin to worry wen u apply for EC than submit one which doesnt show ur full name.

Dont think it will be any problem for HO to send u the correct letter.

Well, i have sent a mail to them last week but i did not get any reply back. Still waiting for a reply from HO. will update you when they get back to me.

Has any one faced similar situation as mine and received corrected approval letter from HO.

Am having the issue, i have not contacted HO at all.
'H' was also ommited from my surname.
Please inform us on the outcome.

slightly different. my FLR(HSMP) was issued in the wrong name. they replaced an "rn" with an "m" in my surname.

called them. had to send my passport back for the correct name.

Can you please mention when your application reached HO?
When you got the ref. number?
When the decision was taken?
Any verification call to employer?
When you got the documents back? Royal mail/any other courier?

Hi All,

This is the update from me.

I sent the approval letter back to HO with a cover letter describing the spelling mistake and the correct firstname.

I got the ammended letter just yesterday. It took around 2 weeks.

Hope my experience will be useful for others in this forum.
