Tier 2 Needed urgently

I have got a job paying 40k p.a.. But those guys are a start-up and cannot sponsor tier 2 visa. They are ready to hire me as a contractor. Can I work as a contractor with them under tier 1 entrepreneur visa. Also, please advise on any contacts that can be helpful in this regard which can sponsor my visa.
