Document list for Tier 2 General - outside UK application

Hello,

Recently I secured the UK tier 2 General visa for myself and dependent from outside UK(leave to enter). I am very thankful to the experts of this forum who have helped me by answering queries which I and others have raised in the past.

I am listing here the documents I submitted for the application(self and dependent), hoping this will help other who are in the processing and looking for such information.

Main applicant:
1. Completed Online application(A signed printout)
2. Completed Appendix 5 - self assessment
3. Results from online points calculator, signed and dated on each page.
4. Passport current and old.
5. Previous UK visa copy(I have lived in UK earlier)
6. Original Degree Certificate
7. Passport photos as per guidance
8. Residence proof of current country of stay.
9. TB certificate(not required in country where applied from but still listing here)
10. Proofs for cooling-off period.
a. UK exit stamp on passport.
b. UK exit plan ticket
c. HMRC's P45 form(as provided by last UK employer) showing leaving date.
d. employer letter showing job start date in location outside UK.
11. Cover letter listing points I claimed and documents related to each. Also explaining how I claim that I have completed 1 year outside UK as part of cooling-off period.
12. Print of complete COS (esp. showing Salary and job level on COS)
13. Offer Letter from UK sponsor
14. Maintenance letter from sponsor
15 Sponsorship letter(mentioning RLMT date,SOC code , salary, work hours)

Dependent:
1. Completed VAF10/online form(A signed printout)
2. Passport current and old.
3. Previous UK visa copy
4. Passport photos as per guidance
5. Residence proof of current country of stay.
6. Marriage Certificate
7. Maintenance letter from sponsor

Print of all the originals in the above list.

Hi,

I am going to submit my Tier General VISA Application Tomorrow including dependent visas(wife and daughter).

I have all documents except Residence Proof certificate,is it necessary document or optional?

please suggest any points for me!

If you applying from within your own country, your passport should work as the proof. If applying from any other country, provide your visa copy.

Thank you so much for this information! I am a holder of Tier 2 work visa and just got married to a Mexican national who is applying from his country for a Spouse Dependency visa, can you kindly confirm whether Dependency visa will allow him to work (I know he cant work as Doc & Dentist, but how about other jobs?) and also can you please confirm how much he needs to have saved for 3 consecutive months? Or can he not have savings if i got enough?
