Switching from Discretionary Leave to Tier 2

Post by Ginger2015 » Mon Dec 16, 2013 10:57 am

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and would like some help with a query I've got please.

Is it possible to switch from the discretionary leave to remain category to Tier 2 in country? I work as a doctor and some friends have advised that switching might be the best option if I want to take up a specialist training offer.

Many thanks for your help with this.

You can't switch in country from Discretionary leave to Tier 2.

I am not aware that there are restrictions on those with DLR undertaking specialist doctor training posts.

You can find out about eligibility requirements, here, which is probably a better start than asking friends, unless they have direct knowledge of this area

Thank you so much for your responses Amber/Greenie. I will take a look at the information you sent through. I got my DLR in May 2012.

You are under the old rules which is a 6 year route to settlement (2 x 3 years DLR) and allows unrestricted access to public funds and employment.
