BRP received.Passports & original documents not yet rcvd

Hi,

In the past I have always received my passport and original documents followed by BRP in the next couple of days.

Below is my current situation (Tier-2 (General), extending leave to remain, (main application + 1 dependent)).

I have received my BRP on 13Dec13 but am still awaiting the return of original documents.

Could someone share some light on the average times for return of original documents for those case where BRP is received first? I need arrange some travel but cannot do it without my passport in hand.

Update:

Received passport and original documents today by normal 2nd class delivery.

I cannot imagine how or why anyone would send passports by a non recorded mail.

Does UKBA assume that Royal Mail is flawless!! Dont know what to say...really
