Mistake in application, HO needs additional info

Post by Meesha » Thu Dec 26, 2013 1:03 am

Dear all,
In answer to Q 25 i ticked both boxes i-e contract and business bank account. I thought this contract means lease agreement for business premises. I have provided UKBA business bank account detail. I am switching from PSW and i have opened business account a week before sending application so i have no transactions on it. Now i have letter from UKBA caseworker asking about contract letter to show business is trading.
I do not have any such contract what should i do now?

i think you must send them at least one contract to prove that company is already trading or a letter from your business bank manager stating company is trading..as far i know and i did the same in my case and got visa within 14 days by the grace of God.

@ Meesha, one important requirement for switching from PSW visa to Tier 1 entrepreneur visa is that you have all the necessary process in place for you business to start trading activities. You can either provide a contract letter or a letter from your bank that your business is already trading.

But contract agreement does not mean the contract should have been carried out, but that you have the agreement with your clients to render your service to them.

Did you not have plans for this when submitting your application as you are very lucky that HO ask for the document, because some applicants get refused for not providing contract?

@ olasunkanml and Junaid
I have different type of business. It is relevant to biomedical sciences. The business involves working on rare human diseases. In such case I cannot provide any contracts like normal business do for clients. However I have provided certificate from lab where I am going to work that no risk is involved and that the project is viable. So what should I do now as none of the lawyers were able to give me satisfied answer to hire them.

@ Meesha, I believe you must have a particular way that you use to carry out your service, like using the labs you quoted for analysing specimens might required paying the lab, so in that case the lab could issue you a contract agreement for the service you will be carrying out at their premises. If I may ask, who exactly are you going to be working for? NHS or private individuals?
