If you have a job in USA, it's still the best option.

Ajay,
It would depend what kind of employer you have.
I am working in the US for the past 5 years on a H1B as the employee of a consulting company and the green card is nowhere in sight.
There are too many reasons for people like me to hate the consulting cos.
I do not want to list them here as this is not the right forum.
This is why I am looking at HSMP.Atleast I'll be free to earn all my money and the consulting company will not take a large cut..

regards

Pdd123, I agree with you. If you spent 5 years here you could have gotten British citizenship by now. HSMP is the best route in the UK if you qualify. Sorry that you don't feel as welcome in the US. I understand that the difficulty in getting a green card has gotten much worse after 9/11. I have a US passport and don't have to worry about US immigration but prefer to be here in the UK, at least at this time.

Algorithm, I hope this gives you another answer to your question.

pdd, consultants are everywhere. If you get green card in us you can get rid of them. If you compare the cost of living, uk is very high. If I were to get the green card I would have choosen US. I think , your idea will change if you get a green card right ? :)

Algorithm if you give me a choice of us green card or HSMP I would choose us green card.

jafri,
yes its very much true that uk IT market on boom. We should get a good break with HSMP in hand.
Whats your application status. I think you asked them to send the doc's to your address and thus your things are delayed. Should have asked some of your uk friend to pick it up for you and send it by courier.

By the way, my consultant said that my application process is completed. Other details are not known. So they now reached 5th april.
