Can a non-eu travel alone?

Post by Jellybean105 » Tue Jan 28, 2014 4:53 pm

Hi there

I wanted to know if a non-eu national with a stamp 4 (and re-entry visa) travel back to Ireland alone from the UK? Or does it have to be with/joining the eu family member. If so, what do we need to prove he will be 'joining' the eu member.

Also, what other instances can a non-eu family member of an eu-national travel alone? Once he gets an eu 5 year residence card?

If he gets an Ireland resident card, can he return to Ireland alone? And the same for the UK with a UK 5 year resident card?

I'd really appreciate your help.

Thanks!

1- Yes a non-eu national with a stamp 4 (and re-entry visa) can travel back to Ireland alone...

2- A non-eu family member of an eu-national can travel alone every time, Once he gets an eu 5 year residence card. There is no restriction but on the way back to Ireland, the Immigration officer on the Irish port can ask you about there where about of EU citizen...

3 - Yes to your last question
