Partner Visa from the US to the UK

Post by Love My Family » Thu Feb 13, 2014 5:33 pm

Hi,
I am new to this forum and have had a quick look about but cannot see the specific questions i have so here goes:
I am british and have returned home after fourteen years living abroad.
i am trying to visa my husband of 15 years over and am now at the stage where we meet all of the requirements including the financials and are ready to 'hit the submit' button as we have to apply online.
Has anybody done this from the US recently?
The UK Border Agency site says we need to fill out VAF 4a and Appendix 2 which we have, but when we go to the Visa4UK site and create the account it gives settlement as the only viable option but the form does not ask any of my financial questions only my husbands and as he will be quitting his job to emigrate we are concerned that it is not the right form.It does not even list wife as a sponsor option?????
Any help would be very greatfully received as our family has been split apart now for over a year.
Thanks in advance!

The VAF4A is a paper application and can't be used in the US. In your case, you file the on-line settlement application found at visa4UK and then submit a printed copy of that application together with a paper Appendix A (which you can get from the UKBA site). You do not use the paper VAF4A but the questions on that form are the same or similar to those that are asked in the on-line version.
