Cousin applying HSMP, having some doubts about FLR/EC

Dear Friends,

Probably very few people might have come across this situation. My Cousin is planning to apply HSMP. At the moment he is on Work permit. He is completely eligible when we look at the points.

He recently got married and his wife is in India. Now his doubt is, if he is making in country application, after getting the approval is it compulsory for him to apply FLR from UK or can he apply EC before 6 months time in India. Because he is planning to go India as soon as he receives the approval. As we dont know how many days it will take once we send the passport, he want to travel first and try to make an application in India itself, if possible. Please give us some suggestions and comments.

He can go back to India and apply EC before 6 months.. Shouldn't be an issue..

Thanks for your reply AspireHSMP. Do you know if anyone applied like that. Because, he will be making an in country application. Did anyone came accross this situation.
