Allowances vs Benefits - Wierd situation

In my CoS, allowances were marked as zero apart from the basic salary. When I joined the new employer, now they give me X% of my basic as benefits which I can get as taxable salary as well every month(if i don't opt for benefits). Is it counted as allowances and should be marked in CoS? Will it be an issue for future applications/extensions?
