Switch from PSW: increase to minimum salary

Post by mrbojangles » Mon Feb 24, 2014 2:18 pm

Hi,

This concerns a US citizen whose Tier 1 (PSW) leave will soon expire. His job fits an NQF level 6 SOC code, but his salary is currently around £2,000 below the required new-entrant level. His employer is happy to sponsor him, and has agreed to increase his salary to the required level. He intends to apply at the beginning of April. His current leave expires in mid April. From when does the salary increase need to take effect? And what evidence must be provided - is it just that the employer verifies it as part of the COS application?

By the way, I am aware that he is cutting the timing of his application finely. He is out of the country for much of March, so he can't give up his passport until April. Is this do-able?
