applying childs first British passport If child is abroad

Post by buchade_p » Mon Mar 24, 2014 12:31 am

Hi Admins,
With the precious help from all of you, I successfully manage to register my kids for British citizenship using MN1 form!
Thanks for your continued Help.
Now I would like to apply for their first British passport, but my kids are abroad. Can I apply for their passport in uk ( kids are abroad)

Applying passport from abroad is very time consuming.
Cheers,
Pankaj

You're supposed to apply from the Country the child is in, though, I can't see it being a big issue if you're in the UK, so long as you've got the necessary documents and put a UK address on the application.

There is a section 3; which asks have you had any passport?
Section b) says you must send us all uncancelled passport(They already abroad on that passport!)

There is your issue, they'd have to post you their passport, hence why you're expected to apply from the country, although it's all processed in the UK now, or at least ought to be.

If applying from abroad, wait till after April 6 as the cost is being reduced.
