Tier 2 Partner VISA - Can I work ?

Hi

I have a Tier 2 Partner / Dependent VISA. Can I apply for job of software engineer in the UK ?

Could someone point me to a document on UKBA or GOV.CO.UK website ? I would like to take them to my interviews

Refer to tier 2 guidance read all about dependants and their conditions of stay.
Print out what you need for your interviews.

Yes 100%.....your partner can work until your visa is valid. If you leave your job and go back from UK then your dependant will also have to go back. Once she gets an offer, You then need to apply for their NI using Job Centre plus showing the job offer.
