Certified passport copy

Post by tarap » Thu Apr 03, 2014 3:56 pm

Hi there,

I have recently obtained my Tier 2 visa and returned to the UK, where I am now putting together the paperwork for my husband's dependency visa. I submitted a certified copy of my main passport page and the two UK visas I have held so far, but my lawyer is now telling me I need a notarised copy of every page of my passport. Is this true?

The lawyer is terrible and has made many mistakes so far, so I don't exactly trust them. I paid £10 for each page I had certified, so I'm looking at £200+ to have every page certified. Can someone please tell me if I do indeed need every page certified and, if so, is there anywhere cheaper where this can be done other than a solicitor?

Thanks in advance!

Tara

You don't need a solicitor to help you with this case.
You don't even need certified copies of pages in your passport. All you need are ordinary copies of your passport with tier 2 visa, photo page. you don't even need to send copies of visa unrelated to tier 2.
The immigration rules are very simple, so long as your case is straight forward(no overstaying etc) solicitors are not necessary.
Make sure you add maintenance, some sort of proof of accommodation and address will all help.
