immigration for students after study finish

Dears,

I have one question, according to the australian immigration law you need to have 3 years work experience requirement before lodging the appli, however this requirement is waived if you finish a australian qualification, my question is what counts as the australian qualification,

* Does a 6 months certificate course count ?
* if not what else?

Hi Usman,

First of all you should check out www.immi.gov.au.

You need at least two years full-time study in Australia, which leads to a qualification. You can't add together short, unrelated courses.

6 months will not be long enough.

Bear in mind that the general skilled migration program will change quite a lot on 1 September, and the requirement then will be 16 months full-time study in Australia.
