Tier 2 general dependent visa, Which visa category to chose?

Hi all,

I am trying to apply online for the Tier 2 general dependent visa in the official UKBA website https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ .
As soon as i login there are three preliminary checkbox questions regarding "reason for visit ", "visa type" and "visa sub type" before creating the application.

As a dependent husband applying to join my wife who is already working in UK, which options in the check box should i choose in those three questions?

i guessed as
reason for visit - settlement
visa type - settlement
visa sub type - Husband

But will the 'reason for visit' and 'visa type' be 'settlement' type? my wife is not settled in UK, rather she is working in tier 2 visa sponsored by a company.

i tried to choose
reason for visit - others
visa type - others
but visa sub type - gives some options unrelated to my visa application.

can some one help me out which preliminary options should i choose to apply as a dependent husband willing to join wife working in UK under tier 2 general visa.

It is Work>Tier2> Tier 2 General Partner (length of stay)

Could you please which tier 2 option i should choose in 'Visa type'.

There are 2 options in visa type.

tier 2 ( general shortage occupation) visa and
tier 2 ( general ) visa

which should i choose of the above?

Hi Rahul,

You need to select TIER 2 (GENERAL) VISA as the category unless you are applying as main applicant and your T2 General visa is of shortage occupation list (without RLMT).
