Do I require absence proof if less than 180 days per year

Post by Vikash » Fri May 23, 2014 12:29 am

Dear ALL,

I am applying for ILR in May/June. I have not been away from UK for more than 180 days any year in the last 5 years. I have been for a short visit outside for personal and professional reason.

1) Do I require a letter from my employer stating when i was out of the country.
2) Do I require any other document supporting my absence for that brief period.
3) Do I mention this absence in a separate absence tracker.

Regards
Vikash

Yes , A letter is required. Can be from employer or a cover letter explaining days out of the country . For leaves / or annual vacation P60 can be a supplement proof that taxes were paid for whole year.

If leaves are less , then i think it can be omitted. But better to write a cover letter

Thanks Argus7 for the reply.

However you mentioned P60 should suffice. I have got an employment history letter from HMRC stating my tax payment for the below years
2009-2010
2010-2011
2011-2012
2012-2013
Salary slips for year 2013-2014.

In the year March 2011, I went back to India , resigned there as I had secured a new job with a new company in UK and cameback in April-May2011 to join the new company. What should i produce in this case?

The leaves were actually 2-3 weeks avg on every occasion. Do i still require a cover letter. Reason i ask this again is i dont work with the employer anymore and would be hassle to get from them.

This should not be an issue, Just take your offer letter as evidence in case they ask.
