Tier 1 General - Second Extension

Post by sanind8 » Wed May 28, 2014 12:37 pm

Dear Forum

I was issued Tier 1 general in 2010 for 3 years till May 2012.
Received first extension for 2 years, till May 2015.

However due to change in new rules, planned for visa extension now.

Q: How many years do I get extension?
Q: Will it be issued after present visa date that is May 2015?

Thanks in advance.

I applied 2nd extension for same reason as I lacked four months and thought to spend money on extension instead of hoping that i am ok with ILR.

1. Current vignette: Tier 1 (General)
2. Date of expiry of current leave: 1st June 2015
3. Number of applicants: Main
4. Date application posted: 09 May 2014
5. Date application received at UKBA: 12 May 2014
6. Date payment debited: 13 May 2014
7. Payment mode : HSBC DD - payment shown on 14 May 2014 on statement
8. Acknowledgement letter received: 16 May 2014
9. Biometric letter received: 20 May 2014
10. Date of biometrics enrolment: 21 May 2014
11. Date of Approval Letter: 23-05-2014
12. Date (new) leave to remain valid from: 23-05-2014 - 23-05-2017 - 2nd Extension as lack ILR by 130 days
13. Date passport and supporting documents received: 27-05-2014
14. Date BRP received: 28-05-2014

Hi ashehzi,

Is it because you lack 4 months in one of the 5 years ? or any other reason ?

Can you please help me in my case ?

1. I entered UK in Jul 2010 with 2 years Tier1 Visa , valid till Jul 2012.
2. Then extended my Tier1 Visa for another 3 years , valid till Jun 2015
3. As of today I have totally spent 170 days out of UK
4. My Spouse entered UK on March 2013 and on and off in UK due to personal reasons. Spouse visa is also valid till Jun 2015.
5. As UKBA has announced that there will be no extensions after April 2015, should I go for extension in April 2015 or as I am eligible for ILR in Jul 2015 should I do that ?
6. What would be the case to my spouse ?
Kindly let me know
