Can I use ILR instead of British passport?

Hi Gurus,

Can someone help me in below scenario:

I don't want to use my British passport which I want to use in getting another country's visa, so can I use ILR when entering in UK from my home country? (My country: Pakistan allows dual nationality). I found somewhere that ILR status is not valid after getting nationality but if I can get any practical example?
