SET M Query

Post by Bobthemoggie » Mon Jul 07, 2014 3:23 am

Hi Guys,

I have 2 urgent queries on SET M application for partner:

Background:
I have settled through PBS 5-year route
Partner initial leave granted as PBS dependent: June 2012
Partner switched to FLR-M in Jan-2014
I'm assuming that- my partner now qualifies for ILR through 2 year route using SET-M form.
But, kindly let me know- if its not the correct & if we've been impacted by recent immigration rules change.
Kindly request you to let me know about it ASAP, as we've booked the PEO appointment in next week.

1)
In section 8 - Your Home & Finances , we have a small table having columns:

Income Source || Interval received || Amount

So, in the 'Total' row , is that- mere carrying down the one month's salary figure or do we need to add Salary credits of last 6/12 months?

Does anybody have any template/sample for SET-M form's earning requirement?
As the form itself does not give much clarity.

Thanks a lot for your kind help.

Yes SET(M) by virtue of rule 287(a)(i)(d) B1 English and LIUK.

Thanks a lot Amber, for quick clarification.
Based on the clear picture now (i.e. the recent rule changes Apr-14 does not impact Dependent (PBS+followed by FLR(M)), we will be now continuing the SET M application...
correct me if I'm wrong / missing anything..

Sorry but got few more queries to trouble you:
Also, I have gone through the Maintenance fund discussion;
But, I would like to know- how on should fill in the "section 8 - Your Home & Finances" table.
i.e. Only write last 1 month salary & in interval write monthly like-
viz-
Option-A
Income Source || Interval received || Amount
Salary || Monthly || £xxxx (enter the figure from last month's salary)

or Write rows for last 6 / 12 months salary credit & make a sum of it in the Total row @ the bottom?
viz:
Option-B
Income Source || Interval received || Amount
Salary Jun-14 || Monthly || £xxxx
Salary May-14 || Monthly || £xxxx
Salary Apr-14 || Monthly || £xxxx
Salary Mar-14 || Monthly || £xxxx

Kindly advise.

Also, In my case, I have recently switched the job. So, my last month's salary is far lesser than the normal monthly salary (based on partial days worked);
So in case if we've to write as per Option-A, in that case should I take the salary figure from the previous month?

Kindly suggest.

Many Thanks for your kind support to all of the forum members.

[On side note, I feel that- This table on SET-M form is fairly vague compared to the income tables which used to present on the PBS forms]

You should write your current salary in the table. You don't put lots of months just earnings and amount. You also include any benefits, e.g. Tax credits, child benefit.
