Heathrow > JFK > LAX

Post by rhianna » Sat Jul 07, 2007 11:39 pm

I'll be making my first trip to the US from London shortly. I'm a British Citizen.

Departing Heathrow to JFK then connecting with the same airline to LAX airport as my final destination.

My question is, since my connection time at JFK is 5 hours, can I nip out to see a bit of New York before the connection time?

I'm assuming after immigration checks at JFK I will be able to do this, right?

I understand that the arrival queues can be quite lenghty in the evenings when I will be arriving at LAX, will I have to go through immigration checks again?

Any helpful tips will be appreciated.

THANK YOU.

You go through immigration at JFK
You get your bags from your flight and have to put them back on the conveyer belt after you pass customs.
I do not recommend that you go into the city during this layover
You really do not have enough time to get there and back

Thank you very much for your advise. Looks like I'll have to catch a view of NY some other time. Cheers!
