Switch from T2 ICT LTS to T2G - Change of sponsor

Post by SamP » Wed Jul 30, 2014 6:10 am

Hello Gurus

I have a T2 ICT Long Term Staff Visa issued in March 2012. I am interested in changing employer, and moving to T2 General visa. I am aware that I will need to apply out-of-country, and that the new employer will have to do a RLMT +sponsor the visa.

My question is - would I need to serve a 12 month "cooling off" period? I am getting conflicting reports , and believe there may be ambiguity on this. Could anyone please let me know if the cooling off is not applicable in cases like mine ? (Salary ~£50 K)

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks
Sam

your salary would need to be £135.5k or more to be exempt from cooling off.

Thanks Manci

Helpful document.

It's quite surprising that the UK govt would not allow people to switch jobs . Leaves the person completely at the mercy of the employer.
Is there any expectation of this restrictive clause being changed anytime in the future? Or am I missing an obvious workaround?

Thanks and Regards
Sam
