I heard hotels are costly there and I am going for job hunt first so it may take many weeks. So pl let me know any shared accomodation where I can get a room on weekly baisis.
2) Do any one know abt the flight deals from Bangalore,India to London. which airlines offer best deals.
3) I am in Oracle Applications area and have solid Techno-Functional experience, do any one know how difficult to get such job in UK.

Hi GPS

Flight deals: you can find cheapest deals these days (sep-nov), even with british airwas (around Rs. 25000, for oneway). Cheapest would be srilankan/gulf airlines.

Accomodation: You can find single room with breakfast (B&B) for £20 pound in london

Should be easy (not very easy, lacking UK experience) to find jobs with the second high demanded skillset you have.

Hello,

For accomodation, arrange for a BnB for short time as GBP 20 per day is too much. Try look for a shared house accomodation (a room with attached bath and shared Spam and lounge) that will cost you from GBP 60 to 80 per week. You can find this in local papers or on the mirrors outside news agent shops.

For job, register with two or three consultants at least like www.elite.co.uk and also apply using www.jobserve.com and www.totaljobs.com sites. Have a mobile phone ready before sending your cv. I think you will get interview calls within 2-3 weeks time after u send your resumes, and for oracle dev., there are jobs so dont worry mate.

Best of Luck.

Afzal

Thanks Afzal,
After reachig there in B&B. I will try to get some shared accomodation on weekly basis.
I am in India now and I am applying few places every day. I am getting call also but after 1-2 calls things are not moving. Oracle Apps is a hot area now but I could not reach till interview stage yet. I think things are moving slow in UK.
Tell me one thing if any one knows -
Just now I got a call from Ireland and they were looking +ve. Do HSMP WP is valid in Ireland also. I asked this question to him and he told WP is not a problem it can be arranged fast. If HSMP is not valid there then do I have to accept this offer or now (if it comes ?). I will lose my UK 1 year time in that case. Any light on this issue is highly appreciated.

HSMP is NOT valid in the Republic of Ireland.

However it can be used in Northern Ireland which is part of the United Kingdom
Where there is a will there is a way.

Please PM me for single room (if u r looking for accom. in london). You have to be prepared for written tests (blue chip companies will conduct tests in PAT and Technical)
