IMPORTANT: Direct ILR for child instead of citizenship

I am on Tier1 Visa and eligible for ILR in Feb 2015. My son was born in Dec 2013 and he has an indian passport now.

We haven't travelled outside UK after his birth and so my son doesn't have Tier1 dependent Visa.

I know we can take citizenship registration for him after our ILR but we have to travel in March 2015 for family function in India and if I apply for his citizenship then they won't be able to travel (as it is taking 6 months for kid's citizenship).

Can I directly apply for his ILR along with our ILR in Feb 2015? We can apply for his citizenship along with us later.
