EEA National residency card - Applying for UK passport

Post by kostikson » Wed Aug 27, 2014 7:21 pm

Hello everyone,

My wife has a treaty rights exercising in UK by the european family member (me). Right now I am in the process of application for nationalization and planning to apply for UK passport. Do we need to let boarder agency aware of it and re-apply for wive's visa ? Does anyone dealt with the similar situation in the past ?

Thank you in advance

Yes you can apply for Naturalisation and this will not affect your spouse ability to secure PR. However, you need to understand that you will never be able to support a family member under EU law in future.

There is no need to inform UKBA
