180 day rule

My mom has got 2 year family visitor visa on 27/8/15 but she is able to fly only after 15/9/14; Is the 180 day rule applicable from her day of entry to the Country or is it from 27/8/14.
After 180 days in the UK can she return in 2-3months or does she need to wait for 6 months

The particular rule you're referring to was part of the guidance issued to the ECOs until last year.

This is no longer the guidance issued.

The guidance issued is that someone on a visitor visa must not be appearing to effectively live in the UK. E.g. they mustn't be spending the majority of their time here.

If someone has visited for 6 months, leaves for 2-3 months and returns for a week - that'd be (probably) ok. If someone visited for 6 months, leaves for 2-3 months and returns for another 6 - that wouldn't. Someone who visits for 2 weeks, departs for a few days and then returns would be fine, but if they did that repeatedly over a year - they probably wouldn't be.

Her allowed time in the uk starts from date of entry and will be 6 months or the remaining time on her visa if that is less than 6 months at point if entry.
