Suggestions regarding taking passport for my kids

Hello,

In most situations I find valuable information in immigration boards. I hope I get some suggestions for my case.

I came to UK 10 yrs before, got my passport last year. Even though I got ILR long time before, recently only I took my passport.
My wife and kids are in ILR dependant status.

I might move back to India in a year or so for my personal reasons (Not sure I will be coming any time sooner).

What would be good, whether to take UK passports for kids or have Indian passport as I am going back to India.
Some of my friends recommend me to take UK passports for wife and kids as in case if I come back in near future it will be easier.
Some scare me, if I take UK passport my kids education cost in India will become higher?

Any suggestions / thoughts welcome.
