Biometric Card confusion

Post by AcrossBorders » Mon Sep 08, 2014 12:55 am

Hi, hope someone can clear up my confusion on this

My wife entered under old rules in 2012 on a spouse visa, She is applying for a FLR(m) extension this month and unsure of..

1) Was she supposed to have a biometric residence card issued to her in 2012? (they took her prints etc but never got this)
2) Does she need she need a Biometric card now before applying for FLR(m) or does she get a letter to attend centre post app?

Any help to clear this appreciated!

If she has a sticker type of visa in her passport, no she hasn't got a biometric residents permit and she wouldn't need one either but after you apply for extention of flr m , they will send her letter she needs to go to the nearest post office that can take biometrics which include finger prints and picture then she will receive a BRP
