changing address & ceremony venue after HO approval letter

Post by call2bala » Wed Sep 10, 2014 10:00 pm

Hello experts
I moved to different county recently. I got approval letter to my old address with ceremony date & venue. ceremony date is 23september

Do i need to contact HO to amend the new house address?

Can i request change of venue to near my house address ( I thought I can avoid 4 hrs driving ).

Please share your thoughts on this.

I think it will take weeks for you to get new venue as the certificate is sent to the one you have been assigned to.
I am sometimes wrong.

I would suggest dont get into that conversation at all and just finish of this task by driving there. In recent times the services of HO has gone worse and they are not able to do their work properly.

If I were you I would have bothered and would have just done with it :)

Just found out from my colleague that address is not on Passport (if that's your worry) so I'd just travel and attend ceremony, get certificate and apply for passport (if needed) from current address.

But experts can tell you better.

Regards.

There is no need to inform HO everytime your address changes. If you attend the ceremony, you will receive your certificate. When you apply for your passport, indicate your new address on the form at that point.
