citizenship reference, acceptable professions

Post by SayNoMore » Wed Sep 17, 2014 2:30 pm

Hi all,

I'd like to ask my friends to be a referee for my citizenship. Can it be:
1. sales manager working in pharmaceutical company?
2. scientist (PHD etc.) working in research center of an university?

thank you!

PS I've read all topics attentively, but still don't sure, especially for the 1st candidate.
So, I would be appreciate for hint.

1 referee has to just have a british passport and be over 25.

the other one has to be someone from the HO list of professions

They should both have known you for at at least 3 years.
I am sometimes wrong.

Thank you. But the subject of my question was about professional compatibility :)

I've seen this list, however still can't clarify whether one of my mentioned friend are suitable for it or not. There are everything very blurred.

Ie. Director/Manager/Personnel Officer of a VAT registered Company. Does it compatible to the sales manager? Does it satisfy the department?...

Same situation with the scientist, there are no scientists at all, but... except of "Christian Science practitioner" (!) (I even can't imagine what it could be :)

Lines are definitely blurred, perhaps intentionally to cover all walks of professional life. Horrible English usage there, ignore.

But this:
Director/Manager/Personnel
Officer of a VAT
registered Company
Should cover Sales Manager of a VAT Registered Company.

Regards.
Being British is a state of mind.

Hi All,

Hope some one clear my doubt about the professional referee. He is my friend who used to stay in the same house 5 years back. 3 years back he moved to another place and he is a member of professional body. Can he act as a professional referee.

Thank You

I think you've asked this question before.

If he is a professional & on the HO approved list and does not have a criminal record & is not related to you he can probably serve as a professional referee for you.
If HO don't find him acceptable they will write back & ask for another nomination.
(They have no rule about whether someone lives at same address or not).
