Qualifying 5 years period for ILR

Post by bluesheep » Sun Sep 21, 2014 9:02 am

Hi All,
I switched from post study to tier1 general.

My PSW visa expired on 19/01/11 . I submitted the application for Tier1 on 15/01/11. I was granted Tier1 on 23-03-2011.

Should I count my qualifying period for ILR when I submitted my application for Tier1 (15/01/11) or when I was granted Tier1 visa(23/03/11)? In other words from January or March?

I applied for the Tier1 visa from UK.

Looking forward to the reply.

Regards

Hi,

I have a similar query.
I was granted a Work Permit visa in Jan 2008. Came to UK in Jan 2008, went back in Feb 2008.
Then I came to UK again in June 2008 and left UK in March 2009 on the same visa.
Then came to UK on 16 Nov 2009 on the same Visa, got a Tier 2 visa while here in Jan 2010 and then I switched to Tier 1 General in May 2010.

Now, I am looking to apply for ILR on 18th Oct.
Just curious whether I will be eligible to apply? Do I need to be in UK on 18th Oct 2009 (5 years before application)?

Thanks,
Venkat
