ILR SET (M) Success @ Belfast PSC

Post by NMck » Thu Sep 25, 2014 8:16 pm

Hi All,

Just writing about my wife's recent successful application for ILR at Belfast PSC.

She arrived here in October 2012 on a 2 year spouse visa, I am a British Citizen.

Our appointment was on Tuesday 23rd September 2014. We booked it easily using the online system, with our choice of dates and times. Our appointment was at 10:30am, so here's what the process looked like.

10am - Checked my wife's name off at reception and we went through security quickly.

10:45am - we were called to the window and our payment sheet was checked and they asked for our application and documents. We handed one folder through and advised we had a folder of photocopies also, he said "Oh, you have photocopies too? Yes, we'll take that." He didn't ask for the photocopies. We were given a ticket and told that my wife would be called for her biometrics.

11:30am - My wife was called for her biometrics

12:45pm - Called to the window and got the approval letter. All of our photocopies had been kept.

Our documents were as follows:

- Life in the UK Pass certificate
- IELTS scoresheet
- Marriage Certificate
- 2 x photos of my wife
- 1 x photo of me
- Passports for both of us (including my wife's expired passport)

Cohabitation documents (we have none in joint names and live with my father so no utility bills).
Letters for my wife:
- Jobs and Benefits letter for NI number
- Electoral Office letter
- HM Revenue and Customs letter
- Hospital appointment letter
- Doctors appointment letter
- Bank Statement

Letters for me:
- HM Revenue and Customs letter
- Bank Statement x 2
- Driver and Vehicle Agency letter
- Doctors appointment letter
- Mobile phone bill

- Letter from my father stating we live with him
- A copy of my father's driving license
- Copies of documents showing my father is home owner

- 6 months Bank Statements for both of us
- 6 months payslips for both of us (highlighted NET pay and transaction for pay going into account on statement)
- ISA statement
- P60's for both of us for 2013-2014

We included a table of contents and had a section for "Additional documents" stating we had the following if needed (note: we did not submit these, simply noted on our table of contents that they were available if required):
- Photographs of us together
- Cards we had exchanged
- Cards family and friends sent us
- Travel documents from holidays together
- Photographs of residence
- Additional Cohabitation documents

Apologies for the long post, but hopefully this will be helpful to someone. I went through all the "Success" threads when preparing so I've been helped a lot by this forum. My wife's Resident Permit card arrived today, 2 days after the appointment! I'm very impressed.

Good luck to all of you and I'm happy to answer any questions :)
