Financial Requirement FLR (M)

Hi,

I am planning to apply for the extension of my stay in the UK as a partner of a person present and settled in the UK (i.e. my wife) through FLR (M) application form.

My question: I am working as a full-time employee on a fixed-term contract earning 30K p.a.. My contract expires on Jan 2016.

Can i use my own salary towards the financial requirement even though i am on a fixed term contract (not permanent)?

Just want to double check after complete the FLR (M) for 2 years which applied before July 2012, is it the next visa application called SET (M) ?

Yes. Even though you're on the pre-July 2012 rules bear in mind that you will need to pass both the Life in the UK test and B1 level English.

Just one more question: how about the duration of the visa? does it get affected by my Fixed term contract (ends end of January 2015).
I am told that the duration of dependent visa is 2.5 years.
