Urgent Query regarding difference in names

Post by pktamil2007 » Tue Jul 24, 2007 10:30 am

Hello All,

I am planning to apply in the first week of August and presently in the process of collecting documents. I went through this forum and it has answered a lot of queries of mine.

I have one following query:

My first name is : Arpita

Middle name is : Krishnagiri

Last name/surname : Surendra

The following documents contain difference in way names are printed:

Degree certificate : K.S Arpita
Passport: Krishnagiri Surendra Arpita
Driver license: K.S Arpita
PAN card: Arpita Surendra
Payslips by Indian Employer: Arpita K Surendra
Payslips by Finland Employer: Krishnagiri Surendra Arpita

With the way first names and last names are interchangeably used, I am worried if Home office will reject on this basis.

I would like to get some advice on this if affidavit would be better to be provided? If so, should it be from India or from Finland (as I am presently working here).

Thanks in advance.

Hi Arpita,
Even I have different name in my degree and passport but they did not object but it is better just make an affidavit for the clearification. you can make it in finland too as you are working there

I am in a similar situation. The different set of names:

Passport: Sandeep
Degree: Sandeep Singh Multani

My first passport was issued in Dubai (my place of birth) and the name used was simply "Sandeep" no surname no middlename. Given the hassle of getting the name changed on the passport it remained so on all my subsequent passports.

I believe the affidavit solution should work in my case too. Are there any special aspects I should mention on the affidavit or just associate the names for identification sake.

TIA
Sandeep

Hi,

I have got my affidavit done stating that my documents reflect the difference in names being someplaces in full form and in other places abbreviated with the first and last names being interchangeable used.

This represents the same person.

and this has been notarised.
