Visa expires before 10 years

Hi All, Good Morning.
I am new to this website and needed some help.

I am a bit confused and frustrated about the 28 days rules for making an ILR application.
My visa expires on 11.10.2014 but I don't make 10 years until 28.11.2014!!
My original thought was to make an ILR application on 02.11.2014(within 28 days of my visa expiry date, and within 28 days of making 10 years).
I were reading some guidance on this and they say you can make an application within 28 days of your visa expiry date.
Can I do this in my case?

Apply for FLR (FP) and then vary ur application to SET (LR) once u hv completed 10 yr ......u can vary ur application any tym after 01.11.14
